Understand What The Different Sections Of Roulette Mean

The roulette wheels are divided into three different sections, as you can see in the graphic below. Thanks to the French origins of the game, these sections also bear French names.

Neighbors Of Zero

You want to play section bets; you would have a 9 chip bet on your hands, none of which is a direct bet. Most bets are splits of two numbers, and you only need nine of them to cover all the numbers in this section.

Third Of The Cylinder

In order to cover all the numbers in the second section, the Thirds of the Cylinder, you must invest six tokens. Again, all are split bets, and they cover 12 numbers on the wheel.

Orphans

The last section is divided in two and received the name of Orphans. It only covers 8 numbers, and you will need 5 tokens to cover them all.

Just remember that all of these section bets are exclusive to the European version of the online roulette wheel.

Betting Options And Payouts

Now let’s take a closer look at the actual online roulette bets and payouts so that you can retrieve the information and use it during your next game.

There are a bunch of bets that will give you an even money payout, meaning if you win, your payout will be the same as your bet.

These equivalent silver bets are those placed on the colors red or black, the low numbers from 1 to 18, or the high numbers from 19 to 36 and the even or odd numbers. These bets have the best chance of winning but are also the ones that pay the least.

The next group is that of bets that payout double what you bet. To place this type of bet, you can place your bet on one of three dozen: 1 to 12, 13 to 24, or 25 to 36, or you can bet on a column of twelve numbers.

If you bet only on six numbers, this is called a line bet, and it will pay 5 to 1. A bet in a corner, where you place your chip at the intersection of four numbers, will give you a gain of 8 to 1, while a “street bet” on three numbers will give you 11 to 1. The aforementioned split bets of two numbers payout 17 to 1.

Last but not least, you have your direct bet, where you place your chip on just one number. This will save you 35 times your bet if you are lucky, and the ball lands on your number.
